Since 2015, the year in which the Observatory of Social Responsibility in Latin America and the Caribbean (ORSALC) organised its Third Forum on Territorial Social Responsibility in Mérida (Mexico), the Chair of Social Responsibility and Sustainability has actively participated in all the forums organised with ORSALC through communications and presentations on the work we are developing in this area at the University of Girona. We have also taken part in many conferences and online training sessions organised by this organisation and in collaboration with others. In all these activities we have shared the experiences of Latin American, Caribbean and European universities in the field of regional social responsibility and we have established a shared conceptualisation of the subject.
Furthermore, from the outset, the Chair has been part of the ORSALC Board of Directors and has actively participated in the configuration of its annual plans and in the analysis of trends generated in this area.
For this reason, after ten years of close collaboration, and with the 9th Forum having been held in 2024 in the Vatican City, in Europe, the Chair was asked to take responsibility for publishing the knowledge and future trends, on peace building from the perspective of territorial social responsibility, generated at this 9th Forum.
