nThe audio-visual culture impregnates all walks of the ordinary life of people, groups and entities of the 21st century. Catalonia has to confront the irruption of the current audio-visual culture, marked by the digitalization and the access to cyberspace, an increasingly powerful cultural sector and with strong growth perspectives.nIn front of the complexity that characterizes this sector of activity the Observatory of the Audio-Visual Production (OPA), an initiative of the group of research UNICA of the University Pompeu Fabra, has fabricated this first report. The study offers an analytic balance of the production and circulation of the audio-visual one of Catalan origin of the period 2005-2007, evaluating quantitatively and qualitative the available information in the different sources of tracking of the segments of this industry.n nThe book brings together specific chapters on the different perspectives of the audio-visual activity (of the cinematographic production, television and of video games up to the commercialization of the cinema and the audience of television), and includes texts in what different analysts and professional (J..M. Escribano) expose their points of view, by articles or of interviews, to found a critical balance of the state and the perspectives of the creation, of the processes and of the changes of the audio-visual one in Catalonia.n n
