Description
Universities are undergoing a period of profound transformation. Digitalization, social changes, growing student diversity and the impact of artificial intelligence are redefining the very meaning of university teaching. In this context, traditional practices are no longer sufficient: it is necessary to rethink how we teach, how we learn and what role teachers should play in educating critical, committed individuals who are capable of facing a complex world.
This book addresses the main challenges of contemporary university teaching: student motivation and participation, the balance between academic rigour and pedagogical innovation, the critical incorporation of digital technologies, the promotion of gender equality and the need to consolidate an inclusive, fair and socially responsible university. Far from offering simplistic solutions, the contributions collected in this book advocate a pedagogy of accompaniment, critical thinking and meaningful learning, connected to reality and democratic values.
The reflections presented here are born out of the practice and collective debate of the teaching staff involved in the networks and teaching innovation groups at the University of Girona. Based on this shared experience, the book offers perspectives, questions, and proposals that invite us to rethink the identity of teaching and to reinforce the role of the university as a space for social transformation. It is not just a question of innovating methodologies, but of renewing the educational commitment to knowledge, equality and the common good.
