The present volume synthesizes the results of one of the most significant international projects that investigators of the GITASP have taken part in: the European Manufacturing Survey. This survey has its origins in the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) with headquarters in Karlsruhe (Germany) that developed the methodology and has lead the constituted European network since 2003. From the edition of the survey of 2006 the GITASP, through some of investigators appointed academically to the Department of Organization, Business Management and Design of Product of the Universitat de Girona (2006) was accepted as the Spanish member of the network. nThis participation in the survey of 2006 has given rise to research results that we have grouped together in the present volume. We think that it is material of current academic interest. We hope that the document is able to contribute to a diffusion of this initiative among the community of investigators that, particularly in Spain and in Latin America, show interest in the study of innovation.n
