Objetividad científica y lenguaje: la terminología de las ciencias de la salud presents the inaugural and closing speeches at the International Summer School in Terminology, by Doctor Salvador Reguant (La terminología científica: un ámbito de interés para la humanidad actual) and Doctor Cecilio Garriga (Lengua y ciencia: reflexiones lingüísticas de los científicos en los siglos XVIII y XIX), respectively; as well as the contributions of the IV International Summer Symposium on Terminology. The summer symposiums organized by IULATERM are interdisciplinary meetings of specialists interested in terminology in which monographic topics are debated. This fourth meeting centred on the topic of scientific objectivity and the language of health science through the presentation of four papers, which are La medicina y su lenguaje: del mitos al logos, given by Doctor Bertha M. Gutiérrez; Hacer ciencia de la salud: los diagnósticos y el conocimiento de las enfermedades, by doctor Josep L. Barona; Ocultación del pensamiento científico, by Doctor Tobeña; and Los escollos de la comunicación científica, by Doctor Xavier Fuentes; as well as the external paper related to the theme of the symposium. The Symposium closed with a round table debate entitled Ciencias de la salud y lenguaje and the reading of the conclusions of the meeting that are also included in this volume.
