In December 2001 the thematic network INTERVALNET (Thematic Network in the Development of Interval Methods and their Application to Engineering) was founded, promoted by the University of Girona. This network arose with the aim of bringing together into one common project the different groups of Spanish researchers interested in interval technology from a theoretical or applied perspective, and its diffusion in the field of engineering.n
