Description

This book introduces the concepts related to the basic structure of a computer, that is to say, what functional blocks it is made up of, how they are interconnected and how their operation is governed. All these concepts are introduced with the example of the Simple Machine, a simple processor (CPU) capable of executing only four basic instructions. With this repertoire, it is already possible to implement small programs that the simple machine will be able to execute successfully. This book presents the design and implementation of this simple CPU. It then goes on to present the basis for the development of more complex CPU architectures based on simple modifications of the Simple Machine. The book is the result of the teaching experience of the professors who have taught the subject of Computer Structure and Technology II over the last few academic years.
