This volume examines the settlement of the mountain of Sant Julià de Ramis in the Late Middle Ages through the combined analysis of archaeological and documentary evidence. Recent excavations around the church and the former rectory, together with a close study of the 1317 «capbreu» and other written sources, make it possible to reconstruct the spatial organization of the area, the configuration of farmsteads and fortified houses, and the forms of ecclesiastical and seigneurial lordship.
The book offers an integrated reading of the medieval rural landscape and provides new evidence on building developments, productive activities, and the social dynamics of a parish in the Girona region. It constitutes a significant contribution to the study of settlement patterns and territorial structures in the Catalan feudal world.
