In this volumen, that includes the lectures of Professors Jean-Claude Corbeil, Marcel Diki-Kidiri and Luis Fernando Lara in the framework of the Seminar in Terminology of the I Summer School of Terminology organized by the Institute for Applied Linguistics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, it is clearly discussed the fallacies and inconsistencies of standardization when it is presented as a natural stage of behavior. Because neither the worldview, nor the specialized worldview, is uniform, nor the sociopolitic situations in which the terminology work is done are the same. This diversity entails that terminology actions have to be adapted to adequate conditions of each context, and a theoretical framework for terminology more adequate to actions have to be selected.n
