Hi ha tres aspectes de la intuïció fonamental en el nucli del pensament de Pannikar segons el qual la realitat és alhora el món, Déu i home. No es tracta simplement d’una idea o un concepte, sinó d’una comprensió que cal viure, una experiència simultània intel·lectual i mística. L’home percep de manera sensible la realitat i entén racionalment. Això és precisament d’on sorgeixen la pluralitat i diversitat de cultures i religions. Per tant, segons Panikkar, la realitat no es pot reduir a cap mena de monisme. No obstant això, la religiositat, més que religiós i religiós, uneix cos i ànima, vincula una persona a una altra, la gent cap a la terra, el món i l’home al misteri.
