Aquest volum recull ponències i comunicacions presentades en el 2n Simposi Internacional sobre el Noucentisme, celebrat a la Universitat de Girona el març de 2017, que es va centrar en el Noucentisme català en relació amb el context cultural europeu.
El Noucentisme sovint s’ha estudiat com un fenomen aïllat, com si s’hagués desenvolupat al marge de la història cultural de l’Europa de l’època. Alguns estudiosos ja han fet treballs per corregir aquesta percepció i aquest Simposi va voler insistir-hi, presentant el treball d’una sèrie d’investigadors que ens ajudessin a veure el moviment noucentista des de perspectives diferents i en relació amb la cultura i la societat europea del primer terç del segle xx.
