Manual concebut amb la intenció de ser una eina útil a l’hora de determinar els principals grups taxonòmics (fílum, classe i ordre, i en alguns casos família) d’algues marines de la Mediterrània. Inclou organismes de quatre grups taxonòmics: Rhodophyta (algues vermelles), Prasinodermatophyta (prasinodermatòfits), Chlorophyta (algues verdes) i Phaeophyceae (algues brunes). Pretén ser una eina senzilla, que pugui interessar als aficionats, investigadors, estudiants i naturalistes.
